Macmillan Cancer Support improves the lives of people affected by cancer. One in three of us will get cancer and 2.5 million of us are living with it, with that number rising to four million by 2030. We can help because we are Macmillan.
Every day 29 people in Hampshire, where the ABP Southampton Marathon is being held, hear the devastating news they have cancer. This will see Hampshire’s population of people living with cancer more than double between 2010 and 2030. This huge increase will in turn result in thousands more local people feeling isolated and alone, every day, even after treatment ends. Macmillan and its supporters must take action now to make sure we’re there to solve these issues.
When you're facing cancer it can feel like you've lost control, Macmillan is here to help you take it back. Whether it's a nurse being there from the moment you're diagnosed, a helping hand with your everyday chores, advice about money worries or just someone ready to listen when you need to talk. Cancer isn't going away but if you run for Team Macmillan, we can help make sure no one faces it alone
Together, we are all Macmillan Cancer Support.
Southampton Hospital Charity helps to enhance the world class care and treatment of patients at University Hospital Southampton (UHS) and Princess Anne Hospital by raising funds and providing financial support to areas of the hospital service that lie beyond the scope of NHS funding.
UHS provides services to some 1.9 million people living in Southampton and south Hampshire, plus specialist services such as neurosciences, cardiac services and children's intensive care to more than 3.7 million people in central southern England and the Channel Islands.
By running for Southampton Hospital Charity, you’re helping to raise vital funds that make a real impact to the patients, families and staff who visit UHS. With your help, we’ll be able to refurbish and equip a specialist sensory retreat for the Children’s Hospital and fund research that enables us to remain at the cutting edge of medicine.

At Countess Mountbatten Hospice it costs £6 million every year to provide our vital service, and with limited NHS funding, we need to fundraise much of this. This would not be possible without the generosity and support of our local community.
Countess Mountbatten Hospice provides a warm and welcoming service for adults facing life limiting illnesses and their families.
We serve the communities of Southampton, Eastleigh, Winchester, Fareham, Gosport and the surrounding areas.
Providing care, comfort and compassionate support to patients and their loved ones is our number one priority.
Our charity spaces are free and we ask our runners to raise a minimum of £150 each.
If you are interested in running for us please contact us on the email address below.
Friends of PICU, are pleased to be able to offer charity guaranteed places at the fabulous ‘ABP Southampton’ running events. If you are interested in supporting children's intensive care at Southampton Hospital and taking on any of the challenges - with a choice of either a full marathon (26.2miles), half marathon or 10k Run along closed roads through the heart of Southampton - please contact us on the email address below, we would love to hear from you.
Friends of PICU supports the regional centre for Children's Intensive Care based at Southampton Hospital, by providing vital equipment and services in addition to those provided by the NHS.
We have been going for nearly 15 years, which is just fantastic and makes us immensely proud of the achievements of the charity and all those who have supported and impacted on its history - through the incredible contributions we have received, Friends of PICU has donated many pieces of equipment and services, large and small, high value and lower cost. These help to make a real difference and give every child the optimum chance of getting better, the parents to be comfortable and able to focus on being with their child, and their extended families and friends to know that they are receiving the very best of care in an environment Friends of PICU has helped to create.
Every penny we spend is received as a result of the generosity, ingenuity and huge efforts of our many amazing supporters. Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to all the runners whose efforts and results at events such as the ABP Southampton provides us the opportunity to help the babies and children and are inspiring to others who would like to help raise funds and awareness for the charity. Thank you from our Trustees, Patrons, the staff on PICU and all who support FoPICU for taking on the challenges.
Through life-changing work, KidsOut give disadvantaged children positive experiences to support them becoming future members of our society and workforce.
Each year more than 20,000 children flee domestic abuse to seek sanctuary in refuge. Typically leaving home with only the clothes on their back, these children have experienced physical, emotional, and even sexual abuse and arrive at refuge with nothing. In collaboration with Women’s Aid, partner charities and corporate supporters, KidsOut works to remind these children and thousands of others living with disadvantages what it is like to be children and just have fun.
If you would like to run for KidsOut please contact us on the email address below or call on 01525 243215.
No Limits offers free and confidential information, advice, counselling, advocacy and support to children and young people under the age of 26 who live in Southampton and Hampshire.
Our Advice Centre in central Southampton is an informal, friendly ‘one stop shop’ for young people to get help with any issues they may be facing, including homelessness, relationships, sexual health, sexuality, alcohol and drug abuse, health and wellbeing issues, education, employment, finances and energy advice.
We wouldn’t be able to transform the lives of some of the most vulnerable children and young people without our supporters, and we’d love you to get involved so that we can continue to deliver free support to thousands of young people each year.
We have 10K and half marathon running spaces available, with the opportunity for you to upgrade your space to a marathon (if you’re brave enough!). If you’d like to run in aid of No Limits, your ticket will be free of charge, with a minimum sponsorship target of £100 per runner (T&Cs apply). Phone: 02380 224224
