Year of The Child - ABP Southampton Fun Run Set To Sell Out

Southampton City Council have dedicated 2020 as The Year of the Child because they are committed to investing in our young people and ensuring they are actively involved in shaping a thriving city where they can enjoy the best quality of life and are able to reach their full potential.

Here at The ABP Southampton Marathon we strongly agree with this sentiment which is why we ensure that young people can take part in all of our events and The ABP Southampton Marathon is no exception.

The ABP Southampton Fun Run is open to all ages from 2 to 102 years old! Walk, jog, run, fancy dress or with the whole family this Fun Run is a great race through the city centre parks of Southampton.

Last year in our fun run we had 500 runners taking part in a sell-out event with children and their families getting active in the city of Southampton, following in the footsteps of the adult races earlier in the day. This years’ Fun Run is selling fast and set to be another 500 strong sell out!

Strategic Development Director, Chris Rees said “it is brilliant to have so many children and their families taking part in our fun run as well as runners under 18 taking part in the half marathon or 10k as it is helping to improve their quality of life as well as showing the amazing city of Southampton.”

The ABP Southampton Mile Fun Run takes place on the 26th April 2020 at a cost of £7 per child or family entries of over 2 participants are £5 per person. To sign up for the fun run click here.
