Saints mascots set to stride round Southampton 10k

Sammy and Mary, the Offical Mascots of Southampton Football Club, will be joining us on the day as they will be running the 10km race!

Sammy and Mary, the official mascots of Southampton Football Club will be running the 10K race at the ABP Southampton Marathon Event on the 26th of April with the Saints Foundation Team. They’ll have their tails wagging and legs pounding the pavement as they complete the course starting in Southampton City Centre.

With the costumes weighing 3-4 kilograms and running in temperatures that are sure to succeed 25 degrees in the costume, it’s certain to be a tremendous effort for the mascots, so organisers ReesLeisure are calling out for Saints’ fans to join Sammy and Mary to cheer them on! Saints Foundation, the official charity of Southampton Football club exists to transforms lives in and around Southampton, making people feel more involved, healthier and empowered members of the community. Saints Foundation still have places available for those who would like to join their team!

Chris Rees, Business Development Manager for ReesLeisure, says: “We are very happy that Saints Foundation are a charity partner of the event and its efforts like this that remind that the spirit of Southampton is strong in the city. We can’t wait to see Sammy & Mary on the day and will be cheering them on! Sammy will also be helping us start the Fun Run at 4pm, so don’t miss it!”
