Macmillan Cancer Support improves the lives of people affected by cancer. One in three of us will get cancer and 2.5 million of us are living with it, with that number rising to four million by 2030. We can help because we are Macmillan.
Every day 29 people in Hampshire, where the ABP Southampton Marathon is being held, hear the devastating news they have cancer. This will see Hampshire’s population of people living with cancer more than double between 2010 and 2030. This huge increase will in turn result in thousands more local people feeling isolated and alone, every day, even after treatment ends. Macmillan and its supporters must take action now to make sure we’re there to solve these issues.
When you're facing cancer it can feel like you've lost control, Macmillan is here to help you take it back. Whether it's a nurse being there from the moment you're diagnosed, a helping hand with your everyday chores, advice about money worries or just someone ready to listen when you need to talk. Cancer isn't going away but if you run for Team Macmillan, we can help make sure no one faces it alone
Together, we are all Macmillan Cancer Support.
Southampton Hospital Charity are dedicated to working alongside our friends and partners from the local community as, together, we raise funds for University Hospital Southampton beyond the scope of NHS resources.
With the support of the community, we strive to enhance and transform the treatment, care and support that we are able to provide for our patients and their families as well as investing in advancements in clinical research, treatments and equipment.
Supporting your local hospital charity is a rewarding experience. YOU can make a difference to the lives of the 750,000 patients cared for every year by the hospitals' 10,500 staff right now.
Our hospitals provide a wide range of healthcare services for people living not just in Southampton, but throughout central southern England and the Channel Islands. The chances are that if you live in Hampshire, you will know several people who have been referred to our hospitals for our specialist services including Southampton Children’s Hospital, cancer, eye, neurological, heart, and emergency care. As such, we encourage you to support any area of our services closest to your heart.

Friends of PICU supports the regional centre for Children's Intensive Care based at Southampton Hospital, by providing vital equipment and services in addition to those provided by the NHS.
We have been going for over 10 years, which is amazing and makes us immensely proud of the achievements of the charity and all those who have supported and impacted on its history. Through the incredible contributions we have received, Friends of PICU has donated many pieces of equipment and services, large and small, high value and lower cost. These help to make a real difference and give every child the optimum chance of getting better, the parents to be comfortable and able to focus on being with their child, and their extended families and friends to know that they are receiving the very best of care.
Every penny we spend is received as a result of the generosity, ingenuity and huge efforts of our many amazing supporters. Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to all the runners whose efforts and results at events such as the ABP Southampton Marathon give us the opportunity to help the babies and children and are inspiring to others who would like to help raise funds and awareness for the charity. Thank you from our Trustees, Patrons, the staff on PICU and all who support FoPICU for taking on the challenges of the ABP Southampton running events.
WHO WE ARE
Julia’s House supports Dorset and Wiltshire families with life-limited children, providing frequent respite care in our hospice in Corfe Mullen and in families' own homes. We are there year-round and in a crisis, offering emotional and practical support, emergency respite and end-of-life care. We support the whole family, organising social activities for parents and siblings. In 2018 we will receive just 6% of our total annual funding from the government, making us one of the worst-funded hospices in the UK.
Fundraising may be tough but it’s not as tough as the challenges facing Julia’s House families every day. Run for us and make a real difference to local families in need.
